A night walk with places and stories of hauntings covering over a thousand years of Rome’s strangest unexplained apparitions and preternatural phenomena surrounding the city’s most tragic stories of betrayal, murder and romance.

Walk through Rome in the evening while listening to haunting ghost stories...

Beginning at dusk at the statue of Giordano Bruno in Campo dei Fiori, your guide will tell the tale of how the Domenican Friar was burned at the stake, as well as his membership as a freemason. Next, we walk to Via Monserrato to the women’s prison where the tragically condemned Beatrice Cenci spent her last days waiting for her execution by decapitation. Then on to the resting place of Borgia Pope Alexander VI and down Via dei Coronari famous for its ladies of the night, the courtesans of Renaissance Rome.

Our next stop is the eerie home of Rome’s most famous executioner, and then past the Ponte Sant’Angelo to hear the story of Beatrice Cenci who is said to haunt the bridge today.  In Piazza Navona we talk about Olimpia Maidalchini, lover of Pope Innocent X and hear the tale of how people still see her black carriage rushing out of the city at night.  We conclude the tour at the Pantheon in hopes of sighting King Umberto I who was assassinated and said to have appeared to the guard protecting his tomb.
