Italy during Covid-19 lockdown

Italy Covid-19 March 2021 Update

The Latest Decree by Mario Draghi

The latest government decree for Italy, proposed by new Prime Minister Mario Draghi, begins March 6 and will last through April 6, 2021.  With this latest decree we do not see many changes.  As the vaccine rollout continues in Italy with slow progress, here are the items that have changed in the latest decree that we think you should know about.

While the mask mandate, distancing requirement, and 10pm curfew all stay in effect, the ban on travel between regions is confirmed until March 27th at which time it will be evaluated. Museums in yellow zones are still allowed to be open during the weekdays, and beginning March 27th they may be allowed to open on the weekends as well.

The zone structure or restrictions remains the same, however the zones themselves continue to change.  The latest zone categories among the regions are…

Red Zone

Basilicata, Campania, Molise

Orange Zone

Abruzzo, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardia, Marche, PA Bolzano, PA Trento, Piemonte, Toscana, Umbria, Veneto

Yellow Zone

Calabria, Lazio, Liguria, Puglia, Sicilia, Valle d’Aosta,

White Zone

Sardegna

There are rumors of the entire country going into a red zone around the Easter holiday, but none of that has been confirmed.  As always, we will bring you all of the new changes and latest decrees as they are released by Italian government officials.
