This tour begins at the Roman Vacations office near the Colosseum. From here, your expert, local guide will usher you to the ruins of the Ludus Magnus, once the largest gladiator school in Rome.

Your journey continues onward, past the Emperor’s gate of the Colosseum, toward the arches of Constantine and Titus, and beyond the Temple of Venus and Rome. From here, your guide will lead you down Via dei Fori Imperiali, where the ruins of imperial forums, temples, senate buildings, and the legendary Mamertine Prison decorate the margins of this ancient Roman road.

You will continue up and onward to Capitoline Hill, or Campidoglio, for one of the most breathtaking panoramas of ancient Rome. After you descend Capitoline Hill, and after a brief promenade through the ruins of ancient roman temples, you will arrive at the final destination of your tour, the Mouth of Truth. According to urban legend, this curious, pagan artifact will bite off the hand of any liar who places their hand in its mouth.
